Labor Day

Trey, Dylan and I went to Atlanta for Labor Day. My birthday just happened to fall on the holiday this year, so we got to spend a long weekend with family. Trey's sister, Jenny, and her family came up and stayed with us at my parents house-fun times for all :)

Dylan had a great time hanging out with his grandma, papaw, Aunt Jenny, Aunt Jessica, Uncle JD, Uncle Jon and his 3 cousins (Drew, Aden and Anna)...he wasn't spoiled at all! :) We spent our weekend playing tennis, eating, swimming, playing Wii, playing cards, and shopping on Labor Day.

My mom wanted to get a craft that the kids could make me for my birthday, so she took Anna to Micheals one morning. When they got back I asked Anna what she had bought. She said, "I can't tell you and I can't tell you why I can't tell you" and then walked out of the room :) They ended up using a wood burning tool and making cool designs in a wood frame. The frames are hanging in Dylan's room-pretty cute.

We got back to Nashville on Tuesday morning. Anytime we go out of town Dylan gets off his sleep schedule. He was not taking a very good nap on Tuesday, so I laid down with him on our bed and once he was good and asleep I piled pillows around him and went downstairs. I had the monitor on and was piddling around the house when, all of a sudden, I heard the loudest thud ever followed by a scream. I ran upstairs and Dylan was on the floor and the pillows were still on the bed. It was the worst feeling ever and Dylan was pretty shaken up. He cried nonstop for about 30 minutes and was still unsettled once he calmed down.

Trey was singing vocals in the studio that day, so his phone was on silent, which meant I was leaving frantic voice mails on his phone. Anyways, once I got a hold of Trey, he called our Dr and the nurse reassured us Dylan was fine. She is from Russia and she told us that in her home country it is good luck if a baby falls off the bed before their 1st birthday-who knew? Dylan had a rather large knot on the side of his head for about 2 days, but other than that he was fine. What I learned: Dylan can crawl up and over pillows, so he is not to take anymore naps on our bed. Dylan is kinda a drama king...gets that from his mama :)

Aside from falling off the bed, Dylan is loving life. He got a new toy this past weekend from grandma and papaw. Trey and I call it a "walker", but it's a toy that we put him in and he can walk around our house in it. Our first floor is all hardwood, so it is super easy for Dylan to use the walker. He also loves when people clap...see the video below.
