I'm sure most parents out there can relate to this, but I feel like there are some things in life that happen and when you look back on them you have no idea how you handled it without freaking out. God gives us strength in our time of need and also a sense of peace while traumatic things are happening and, for that, I am very thankful. Side note: I know that we all have different circumstances, and we're blessed that this is the most major thing we've had to deal with thus far.

Wednesday night!
(backtrack) Dylan started running a fever Sunday. By Sunday night he had the "big D" and that lasted all day Monday and Tuesday. On Wednesday morning we woke up to Dylan throwing up. He couldn't keep anything (fluids or food) down. That morning my Dr had prescribed Phenogren, but it didn't help at all. I started reading online about dehydration and Dylan had all the signs...lethargy, dark circles around his eyes, pale skin, no tears and he had had only one wet diaper all day. I called our Dr and he sent us to the ER.
We got to the ER and since we were dealing with a baby, dehydration and a fever we were put on the fast track and admitted in less than 10 minutes. Williamson Medical Center (where Dylan was born) is a very efficient hospital. Our nurses walked in and took one look at Dylan, who was very upset, and went and got a sheet. They wrapped him up like a mummy with one arm out; one nurse held him down and the other nurse started the IV.
(All was fun and games until the nurses started sticking him with needles)

At this point, Dylan was letting everyone know in the 3 floors of the hospital he was TICKED. I was able to hold it together while he was screaming, but once his ticked screams turned to pain screams, I had to leave. Since he was so dehydrated, they had a really hard time finding a vein and from the sound of it, it was very painful. I left daddy and Uncle JD to the screaming Dylan and walked the hall for a while.

Once they got his blood drawn and the IV in, we gave him his pacie and luvie and he calmed down enough to fall asleep. He slept for about 30 minutes, but was awake for 3.5 hours. He was okay for the most part, but one of us had to hold his arm down the whole time. He did NOT like the stint/IV/tape that was on his arm and he kept tying to move his arm, which would make the medicine stop, which caused the monitors to make a horrible beeping noise, which would cause Dylan to freak out...it was a cycle that happened over and over.

After 4 hours and 400ml of fluid later we were able to go home. I don't know who was happier-momma, daddy or baby. At the hospital, Dylan was able to keep 3 popsicles and a slice of bread down. He started producing tears within 10 minutes of being hooked up to the IV and had two wet diapers.

(This was after his 30 minute power nap and we were having to keep him entertained for a couple of hours)
He was still sick all day on Thursday and Trey and I didn't want to go back to the ER, so we went to our Pediatrician and he prescribed Zofran. Supposedly this thing has been going around and it's hitting babies a lot harder than the adults. I was sick all day yesterday...SO not fun being pregnant, having a sick baby and getting sick yourself. Luckily mine only lasted a day...and once today at Publix :)
We are ready to be over this junk! It's a good thing that we went to the hospital when we did. We're hoping for a complete recovery by Sunday...Dylan has some Easter egg hunts he really wants to partake in...he just doesn't quite know it yet.
