Definitely a girl!!!

To make a long (boring) story short, we switched health insurances right when I got pregnant and I was not put on the new insurance until today (July 1).  I still had my old insurance, but it was basically junk and didn't cover much, so we switched.  Anyways, we wanted to wait and have my big ultrasound after we got the new insurance, which meant we had to wait until I was 22 weeks and 5 days.  I really didn't want to wait that long to find out the gender so I called in a favor to a friend who was an ultrasound tech...for a cardiologist.  All of our friends go to her when they get pregnant.  I actually went when I was pregnant with Dylan and she told us it was a boy, but we waited and told everyone after my Dr confirmed it.  Ashley (my friend) checked me at 20 weeks and was certain it was a girl, so we went ahead and told everyone, but I was always a little nervous that the boy parts might have been hidden or we overlooked them or something.  Today was my big ultrasound and "she" is definitely a "she"...good job Ashley!!!

The appointment went great.  The baby looked healthy and was weighing about 1 pound 5 ounces.  My Dr is having to guess a little on the due date, so basically it is anywhere from October 26 to November 2.  Since I was 8 days late with Dylan, this one will more-than-likely come in November.

Trey and I are now in the process of coming up with a name that we BOTH like.  There are a few names we are throwing around, but nothing that is set in stone.  We will definitely let you know when we have decided on a name.

22 Weeks and 6 days
Dylan is doing good.  He gets bigger and bigger everyday.  I was at the park last week and I had a mom ask me how old he was.  I told her 17 months and she laughed and said she thought he was at least 2...he's a big boy, but not that big.   His new obsession is trains.  My parents bought him two Thomas the Train toys and he loves them.  He is constantly asking where the "choo choos" are.  He is also obsessed with pickles.  He loves them and will ask for one anytime the refrigerator is open.  The other night I gave him a choice of a pickle or a cookie and he chose the pickle...he is SO not his father's child when it comes to sweets!!!
The other day my sister was babysitting and she put on Yo Gabba Gabba.  When we got home she was telling us how much Dylan liked it and how he danced the whole 20 minutes of the show.  The next morning when I was fixing his breakfast he was standing in front of the TV saying "dance".  I found an episode on TV and Dylan let loose.  He was turning circles, throwing up his legs, waving his hands around and laughing the whole time...Yo Gabba Gabba is basically TV crack.  I limit it to one episode a day, but for those 20 minutes he is loving it.  I tried to video him, but everything stops as soon as he sees the camera...I will try and hide it next time.

Our summer is flying by.  The last month has been crazy busy with getting our house ready to sell.  We are putting it up this week and we are praying it sells quickly and we can move before baby #2 is born.  For some reason, Trey and I are both optimistic that all will go well and it will sell when we need it to sell.  Well, thanks for reading.  I have to go help Trey paint the trim downstairs...fun times!

  1. I had no idea you guys were trying to move! Do you know where you'll be settling in? Hope it all goes well! We moved when I was pregnant with Mia. It seems to be the rage to pack & move when you're pregnant but somehow it all gets done. Good luck with all of that!

  2. Megan, we have been wanting to sell for awhile, but never got motivated enough to actually follow through with it. Baby #2 made us get our rears-in-gear and get it on the market. We are wanting to move to Franklin, which is south of Nashville. I know so many people who are expecting and trying to move too...crazy! Hope you guys are doing well.
